Antique Sambar Stag & Leather Drop Point

This new Cunningham Custom Shop Drop Point started its life as a John Deere 5160 load control shaft bar. I forged it to shape with a Little Giant trip hammer and it measures 3 3/4" from tip to guard with a razor sharp convex grind. The extended riccasso offers a sturdy construction to the blade that you can choke up on for a confident grip for close technical jobs. The brass guard is filed, staked and soldered in place over black, maroon, white and gray fiber spacers that collar a stack of leather. The handle is premium sambar stag that I repurposed from a century old antique cutlery set, and left the original German silver butt cap in place just as it was. The overall length measures 8 1/8" and it comes in one of my custom hand-stitched pouch sheaths, guaranteed for life.
