RG10 Drop Point

$375.00Price
  • I like it. I like it aloooooooot. The black layers in the g10 handle are rubberized and the feel-in-hand is just right. When it gets wet, bloody or dirty the grip is not gonna quit. Plus, if you choke up on that ricasso? Shoot. You'll need lapidary equpiment to pry it from your hands.*

*do not try this at home

Ever-lovin' me of the drop point, I forged this to shape from a 5160 2" bar that was originally a 5160 John Deere load control shaft (their QC standards guarantee a high quality and consistent metallurgy). Once shaped and rough ground, the blade is triple quenched in Texaco type A quenchant and triple tempered, among a few other heat treat steps that I'm willing to discuss if one cares to inquire (including post-forge normalizing, annealing, freezing, etc). The free hand convex grind is razor sharp and it measures 4" from tip to copper guard which is staked and soldered in place. A simple maroon spacer joins the copper with the RG10 handle that's also pinned through the tang with copper. Overall length measures 8 3/4" and it comes in one of my custom arrow-stitched pouch sheaths. I guarantee my work for life.
