Willow Bow Sheep Drop Point

Of my first batch of knives, this drop point is my favorite. Everything about it came together beautifully both inside and out.

 

True to HEPK form, this blade is forged from 52100 ball bearing steel and went through a week long heat treatment. My mentor, Ed Fowler, has been studying and mastering Michael Price’s hybrid grinds from the late 1800’s for most of his career, and this blade represents my best attempt at the same. While I did not put this knife through the full rigors of HEPK testing, my mentors agreed it very likely a proving candidate. Blade measures roughly 4” with a brass guard that’s bullet-peened to the tang and soldered from under. The handle features Willow Bow grown sheep horn with a few slivers of leather for a handsome accent. Overall length measures 10” and it comes in a custom pouch sheath I also made.

 

Blade is engraved with my GC maker mark and the sheath features the Jolly Cunninghammer stamp.
